Roberts Energy is Awarded a Municipal Contract to Serve More Than 20 Cities and Towns in the Lower Pioneer Valley Region for the Next Three Years

Owing to Its Location, Low Overhead, and Competitive Pricing, Roberts is Chosen Over Several Other Larger Competitors

Springfield, MA, August 22, 2017 - Roberts Energy is pleased to announce that it has been chosen from a field of several competitors to provide fuel for the next three years to more than 20 municipalities in the lower Pioneer Valley region of Massachusetts. Under the terms of the three-year contract that began in July 2017, Roberts will be the provider of fuel for municipal vehicles, police and fire departments, and school districts in nearly two dozen cities and towns including West Springfield, Chicopee, Holyoke, Northampton and Westfield. The bid allows municipalities the flexibility to exercise either a fixed price forward option, or a rack price based on local market index.

The contract will result in the delivery of roughly 3.5 million gallons of fuel from Roberts Energy, which is one of New England's leading suppliers of motor fuels, heating fuels, and lubricants to commercial end-users, wholesale customers, and branded retailers. Owing to the location of its facilities, low overhead, and competitive pricing, Roberts was chosen over several other larger competitors including Global Partners, LP and Sprague Energy.

"This multi-municipality contract represents a very welcome opportunity for Roberts - in the end, we were able to win this bid due to several factors including our footprint, which enables us to efficiently cover all of the cities and towns in the lower Pioneer Valley," said Roberts Energy President Frank Roberts. "Some other companies may provide coverage to a larger area, but we demonstrated better terminal and delivery economics because of our market share in western New England."
